Dan, Greg, KC, Walter, any others within driving distance of Columbus Ohio. What dates work for you in September? I am thinking Saturday afternoon 1 to 5pm. Should we have the band format, or go back to jam tracks? Perhaps both? Anyone want to teach a class? Your collective thoughts? I will book the lodge after we firm it up.

Heyya Ted:I'm good Saturdays toward the end of the month.I missed the band back in Jan. I would enjoy the band setting. What ever works for me. I won't miss this one. I'll e-mail Dave Scott that we met from Westerville while down at HCH. Certainly would help teach class to get more beginners interested in participating. I also will get a hold of Dave Gastel of the Teeny Tucker Band. Dave"s a great teacher and has a degree in music.

Hey Ted...I can't do Sept. 15/16.

I'm willing to do a basic, and I mean VERY BASIC beginners class. Any level above that, I'm a student! LOL

Hi Ted: It sounds like you might have more teachers than participants :-) If people would be interested in a spontobeat philosophy of music class I would love to do it. Walter

I am smiling ear to ear, that rarely happens at work and on a Monday morning no less. Let's shoot for September 22nd. I'll actually schedule classes and or events, (not our normal free for all spirit). At this stage in the life cycle, our event is not a numbers game,it's done simply for the love of the music.I am thinking with this much lead time and the fact that you all have stepped forward to offer lessons, we can build up attendance. Please continue to communicate the date to whomever. God, I love guys :)

Ted,
I'll be there. I have an older buddy who wants to come too. If he's available on the 22nd there will be two of us.

Thanks for putting this on. Great Fun.

Dan and Walter, I will be opening the lodge at 11:00AM. The event will start at 1pm, so first class will start at 1:30? The band will not start playing until after 3pm. We will be adding a medium sized room for classes. Let me know what you think?

Ted: My only concern is that there will be loud music penetrating whatever room I am doing my thing in. I need it quiet or it won't work for me. No worries if you can't swing that. Thanks. Walter

newbie from northern ohio interested in attending. Can you give me a little more insight into your event? Would this event be beneficial for me to attend?

Thanks

Blackbettyhd: Talk about benefits, I wish we had an event like this when I was a newbie, and that's part of my motivation for hosting this. You will have the opportunity to meet experienced players willing to share their knowledge with you. Dan Dial, who has been the co-promoter of this event, has attended jam camps and has had private lessons, he really understands where you are at and can motivate you to bring your harp playing to an enjoyable new level. You may choose to attend Walter Tore's one man band class, he'll be speaking and performing. If history repeats, some of the top Columbus blues harp players will be in attendence, all are personable wonderful folks to talk to.

I will share the art of making music. Techniques are found in any book but the art is something that has been passed down from generation to generation and is sadly being lost as fast as the steam locomotive faded when the car came to be. I was fortunate to learn from the blues masters firsthand and am passionate about passing this on. These things can't be learned on a youtube or an email. There will be no hand outs and no heavy math like brain crunching going down. The setup you use, instruments you play, are just the tools in the box. I will be speaking about the spiritual side of music that allows you to express what is inside of you unfiltered. This is how I learned and it can only be shared in the flesh. Walter
