I went to Elderly's, my favorite music store. They had the Blackheart 5watt amp there. I was really impressed. I could get decent volume even before adjusting the tone controls to resist feedback. the amp was set on its 3watt position at the time. I switched to the 5watts setting and it was just as good at resisting feedback and significantly louder and it had good tone.
I can't wait for the Blackheart 'killer Ant' and The 'Handsome Devil' arrive. If they are anything like the 'Little Giant', we harp players will have many good amps at a more reasonable cost.

I have tried the champion 600 too. My thoughts on it are that it has good tone, but not loud enough for most situations. The Valve Junior, Blackheart 5watt, and Gibson GA5 all were much louder than the Champion 600. Preferably, I liked the Gibson GA5 the best, but its $375-$400 price tag left me looking to the Valve Junior and now more so at the Blackheart.

LOL! Boring day for you Adam?
Kidding aside, that's a helluva lotta threads. Just goes to show there's a healthy amount of harp players out there who contribute to, and rely on, the advice and discussions on this forum. ----------

Man, I got all excited when I saw a post by cm16600! That guy was a really good dude. He sent me money to buy my first Seydel Solist Pro, just because I asked a question about it on here, and then mentioned that I couldn't afford to try the harp because I was a broke-ass student... Cool dude...
BTW, if anyone wants to try to find their first post, you can do so by entering: username "1 post" in the forum search tool and it should find it for you. Mine was in early December of 2008. So I definitely remember "the good old days" when there were only like 5 pages of forum archives! :)
Example search: isaacullah "1 post" The quotes are important ----------

That doesn't work for me. It finds my handle and the numeral 1 could be anywhere. Maybe I didn't have a first post. Maybe I deleted it before reinventing myself as billy shines and profharp.
ha, found it. a threadkilling post of the Bonzo's "can Blue Men sing the Whites" in August 2010.
my second ironically enough was a response to Conjob's announcement of cheap harps on Aussie Ebay. ironic because i tried to buy some and was ripped off...after following up info from a bloke called 'conjob" who'd a thunk? ----------

Ok, back to the thread. i've seen this kind of review hundreds of times. A new Chinese made amp comes out, printed circuit board, cheap speakers and tubes, particle board cabinet, etc. Someone buys one gives it a gushing review, a few weeks later a few more people jump in. Within a month there are numerous posts on ho to replace the tubes, speakers, re-wiring diagrams, then someone builds a better cabinet, and on and on. Here's my opinion. Just contact Greg Heumann, have him send you a re-built Kalalmazoo and be done with it. It will save you a lot of time and money and you'll get back to playing instead of trying to re-invent the amp.

@SuperBee: Glad you found it! Yeah, the quotes around "1 post" are important. By putting them in, you are telling it search for that full phase with the words in that specific order: "1 post". With out quotes, it will search for the number "1" independently of the word "post". ----------
