Hi All,
I'll be in Tucson and Phoenix the second week of November. I'll be splitting the week between the 2 areas.
Anyone know of a blues jam in either of those cities?
Thanks, Dan

I've never been to any of these (going to jams ain't my thing), but here's a list kept by the phoenix Blues society: http://bluesjams.rayrayblues.com/
Not sure how up to date the list is, but all those venues still exist. Depending upon what days you are here, I'd probably recommend the Monday jam at the Rhythm Room because it's the main venue for Blues in the valley, and the house band (Rocket 88's) usually features a harp player (I think it's Bob Corritore). Carmen's Bistro is literally just down the street from me, so if there's a jam there on Sunday, I might be convinced ta join ya...
I'm not sure about Tucson, but I know Nick Waters (on this forum) lives down near there, as well as a couple of other harp players. Tucson has a bit more "happening" music scene, so probably there's a good jam down there somewhere... ----------

Thanks for the info Isaac. I'm not sure where we'll be on what nights. We're flying out to visit our son and DIL who live in Tucson. The flights to Phoenix were less expensive plus driving down to Tucson will give us a chance to see the area. Our son just called and they want to meet us in Sedona...I guess in reality, other than Arizona, I have no clue where I'm going on vacation! LOL

No prob. Sedona is north of Phoenix by about an hour and a half, and Tucson is south of Phoenix by about 2 hours. If you are doing all that driving during the week, my guess is that ya may not have all that much time for Blues Jams in Phoenix! Lol! But seriously, you'll really enjoy Sedona, it's definitely the place to visit when your here. And the weather will be perfect at that time... Oh, when you are down in Tucson, check out who's playing at Club Congress (in the old Hotel Congress). They've always got some good stuff going on there! ----------
