Yesterday I had the pleasure of seeing Kim Wilson and The Fabulous Thunderbirds play. My seat was about 15 feet from the stage and I had a good look at the equipment.
Kim was playing through 2 Fender DeVille amps, both mic'd and he had a nice deep, rich sound as one would expect.
I'm sure he probably plays through a number of different amps but yesterday it was the DeVille's.
Mic looked like a Shure which came after the green bullet models, it was chromed and the neck for stand mounting was intact with the mic.
The show was outstanding!

Was that the Stockton show? I told some of my friends about that gig-I have posted pics of the DeVille setup here and on the Blues Harp amp blog-sure is loud ,but it gets the sound across and out to the house.

I've seen many photos of him playing through a Masco, 2 Fender Devilles, a Kinder Anti Feedback, and a Kinder Maximizer.

I know Kim a little, and I was at the Indian Ranch show. I can tell you that the venue provides the Deville amps, he doesn't own them. He uses them because they are powerful and easy to get, but he does use other devices in front of the amps, this time it was a mid bass cut pedal and a ep xotic boost pedal. He is always experimenting just like a lot of us do, but I have never heard him sound bad amped or acoustic.
