you can buy the tab from adam for $2.00 they are very well arranged in 12 bar format and his videos with the tab are very helpful

@fingers
adams transcription is in 9.5 bar format instead of the usual 12 bar chord progression so I found it to be difficult but thats the way it is maybe you will get a better grasp of it

Sounds like you are using 2 blow instead of the 2 draw full-step bend on the "girl" note of "good morning little school GIRL".

Very important to be able to play and hit all those bent notes... I always have to work at them !

You're on your way, so don't stop !

This is "my" hearing it and rough playing it, as I probably couldn't sit and play the whole thing without listening and practicing over and over for awhile, although I'm familiar with the song and its a great blues song... you may want to check out Adma's tab on it...

But here is how I hear the opening line, and using the "blue 3rd" which is like a 1/4 step bend on the 3 draw, makes it much blusier, where the 3 draw notes are...

Good mornin' lil school girl.

Hi, guys!
I'm new in the site, looking for the same tabs and wanted some help.

@Fingers can you give me a clue? How far you've went with the melody? What's the tone of the harp you use on that video? I think i should play either D harp, playing cross-harp A, or G harp, playing cross-harp D.

Share some thoughts, guys, please!

Here's my take. I tab out only when I try to learn something new for reference. I often revisit things later and change but anyway, heres' what I've got: (on an F harp)
34D' 34D' 34BDB (quickly)2D 2D"
34D' 34D' 34BDB (quickly)2D 2D"
1D 1D 2B 3B 4B 34D'
1B 1B 2B 3B 4B 34D' 2D
4D 5D 4D' 3D 2D (exhale)
4D 5D 4D' 3D 2D 3B 2D 3B
next bit is tongue blocked
123B 3B 123B 3B 123B 3B
2D" 4D' 4B 4D' 4D' 3D'3D(b)3D' 2D [b stands for very temporary release up to blue third)
now tongue blocking again
1234B 4B 1234B 4B
4D' 4D 4D' 4B 3D' 2D 3B
3B 2D 3B 34D'
4D' 4D 4D'3D' 2D 2B 2D 1D 1D
Damned tricky song, especially the groove IMHO.
Great for busking though.

Good luck.

BW, do you get any grief from the public for singing about wanting to go home with a schoolgirl?

I have just started to learn this number and said to the guy I'm working with " I need to change the lyrics to not get myself stoned to death " to which he replied " F*** em, just go for it."
So I'm not sure about what to so either.

I think about a story my mate in Alabama told me. He was living in auburn, which is a college town, youngsters everywhere. He said he'd be out driving and these beautiful young women were out running or just out and about and he'd see them and be lusting after them, and then it would occur to him that he was just too old, there was zero chance for him with these chicks, and it wasn't get any better, he was just gonna be getting older. I guess we were about 40 or so, late 30s maybe when he was telling me this. So for me that is what that song is about, that's the sadness in it, the longing for something and realising that youth is behind you and getting further away all the time, and that those girls are also gone... But still having that kinda desire, you know, they still make you go wow, but you know it's gone, off limits. Anyway, I don't know if that makes it ok to sing about but that's my story. I have another sonny boy song, early in the morning, which jr wells did. Jr sang "when a girl makes the age of 18", but sonny boy sang "now when a little girl becomes 12 years old"...times change

Haven't been accosted yet for singing it out in public. It seems the dirtier the better, when it comes to busking. What IS surprising is that songs like "Boom Boom, Out go the Lights" get a favourable response ... from women. Seriously.

I also don't mind singing Folsom Prison Blues out in public either, even though I do not condone random acts of murder... even disapprove strongly.

I didn't ever listen to boom boom properly until Adam g pointed out how offended his partner of the time was when he was studying it. If I get her in my sights, boom boom out go the lights. I mean it was just words. Maybe lots of people don't really register what this stuff means

I think you're right, SuperBee. My guitar man and I reckon peeps think "out go the lights" means it's time to get "busy".

Thanks a lot, BronzeWailer! It's only that i don't have an F harp, so i'll try it on some other tones, trying to make it sound right! Thanks for the ideas anyway. So you hear a lot of chords added, it's probably something that i should be looking after.
I don't mind going out with schoolgirls either!

@CrossMyHarp. No worries. I think with the 34 double stop, he is doing mainly 3 with a little bit of 4. I'm not entirely sure but this is how I hear it. Good luck!

@Crossmyharp, you were right it is a D harp played in A (second position) i ended up downloading Adams video and tab! it was really helpful, i have added a few licks of my own and play it all the time now great song! its a bit tricky in parts swapping from lip pursing to tongue blocking but stick with it, i would say it took about an hours practice a day for a week to get the tune/timing ect then its just polishing it up, good luck. It would work on any harp IMO, depending in which key you want to play it...

I learned it by ear, without tabs (never learned anything with tabs anyway) ; trying to reproduce the original version (from Sonny Boy I), I think I used a E harp, but I'm not sure.

I noticed two special things : the first time the melody is played, it's a little bit lower in key than the next ones ; like it's played a little off-key. The second round of the melody seems more "in key", and is also played a little faster.

You're great, guys! Thanks!

@Fingers thanks for the info
@The Gloth thanks for the tips

I should get on with playing more often. Only that i have a bit of uncertainty when i play things by ear, for I'm not always quite sure that I'm getting them right. That's why i always look for tabs. Probably i have to just get on with playing and stop browsing for tabs all the time. Thanks anyway. If anyone else have something to add I'll be grateful!

Which version of the tune? There has been a multitude of versions of the tune. If you don't find one that you can figure out, try a different one. Keep working on the other one until you refine your ear enough to figure out what is going on.

Personally I'd sing Flyin Airplane Blues by Blind Boy Fuller

Wanna get in my airplane
Wanna get in my airplane
Wanna ride all over
Wanna ride all over your town
And if I spy the gal I'm lovin'
Old fool gonna let this airplane
Old fool gonna let this airplane down

Now here's my hand
Now here's my hand
You can leave me where you want me
You can leave me where you want me to go
And if you leave me wrong this time
And you won't leave me no
And you won't leave me no more

And I feel like walkin' (yes I do!)
I feel like walkin' (Yes!)
I feel like lyin'
I feel like lyin' down
And you know I feel just like lovin'
My gal ain't nowhere
My gal ain't nowhere around

Now you're three times seven
Now you're three times seven
Ought to know what you want to
Ought to know what you want to do
Mama and the day that you quit me
I won't be mad with
Said I won't be mad with you

Said I know my little woman
Said I know my little woman
She's bound to jump
She's bound to jump and shout
And whenever she gets hold of this here letter
I done loved my long time
I done loved my long time out

It's in C, I believe SBW plays an F harp in 2d position.
