Hey everyone.

Has anyone seen one of these before?

Look at the price! £21.00! That's under $35 USD!

Yeah- I have one. Bought it a few years ago on a whim. Actually pretty cool little devices. If you're thinking about picking one up I'd sell you mine for $20 and shipping. Like brand new...

My wife bought me one of those a couple of years back, off ebay. It is called the Egg-Static mic. I think she only gave $10 for it new. It is about $21 now.

It's just a pretty weak crystal element in a tea strainer. It works...just not real well.

Here's the link:

If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.

Yeah now that KIngBiscuit posted that link that's the same one...I didn't think I spent $35 on it. Anyways, if you want it for $10 just to see if you like it let me know. The novelty of the little thing is half the fun, but it's not peeling paint of any club's walls with its huge tone! Not too bad for practice at home tho.

OK, I just remembered this thread. Mine arrived about a week ago.

It's a little tea strainer with a crystal mic in it. I got one with a volume control with it.

Is it good? For what it is, it's OK. To my mind, it's something you can pull out and 1/4" jack into a pignose to get a dirty sound around a campfire. Saves you trying to compete with a loud acoustic player.

It's only a toy, but a cute one. I'm not regretting the purchase.

Those egg mics are complete and total junk.
I have one I'd like to throw at someone.
