I'm looking to buy a small pa system and saw the Kustom KPC 12MP 12" powered monitors for a real good price. Does anyone have one and how do they like them? How's the sound, volume, and are they holding up?

What are you using the PA for? I would highly suggest not getting the Kustoms. Decent powered speakers run between $500 and $1,000.
While not my top picks, Mackie and Behringer have some entry level speakers that MIGHT be ok. Otherwise, RCF has had the 310a on sale for a good price. Peavey and Electro Voice have some new models that are ok too. If you really do your homework, you can score something really good in the $400-500 range.
I have three QSC K10s, and in hindsight, could have gotten similar speaker for less. However, they are awesome. The JBL PRX512M and PRX612M are great powered speakers.
Having just bought a full PA over the last 6 months, you get what you pay for...and there are definite price points...anything under $400 is really not going to be good. There are a ton of speakers in the $500-1000 range that will work for anything from coffee shops to large clubs and all have a lot in common. The real pro stuff is way more - like double that.
I run the K10s with a Proel Flash 15sa (will get a second sub) and a K10 as a monitor in a full on rock band. My board is a Peavey PV14...so I have nothing real flashy, but it is better than 80% of what other bands bring to clubs to do sound. We did a room of 100+ this past weekend at our full volume on stage and the PA handled it no problem. My HG50 can get louder than one K10, though.

Harpninja, sounds like you've been checking the PA thing out recently, one more question - I'm going to be setting up in smaller venues and am considering the Mackie Thump TH-15A mains (2) with one Makie SRM1801 subwoofer. Both are powered. Do you think the powered stuff is the way to go? If not why? thanx

I haven't tried those specific speakers. I went with powered mostly because the "experts" said that was the way to go. There are pros and cons, but I like my stuff.
I think the powered stuff is easier to use and you don't need to bring a big power amp with you...sometimes you can get by without any board!
I would check out the Wharfendale Titan Active 12s for tops and the Proel Flash 15sa for the sub. The problem with the Mackie tops is they aren't going to be as good, versatile, or loud as the Titans. Don't be turned off by the fact you haven't heard of them, lol.
That with a small mixer (you don't need a powered one!) would run around $1,500 (probably less) and you would have a QUALITY pa.
In all honesty, you can probably live without a sub a long time if need be. My last band got by for five years without one. In fact, I'd get three tops (use one as a monitor for at least the vocals) and go from there.
ALSO, if you are buying for small venues, you will eventually want gear for bigger venues. It is always better to have too much PA then too little. ---------- Mike Quicksilver Custom Harmonicas Updated 2/24/11
