As part of the effort to track down why the Captcha's often don't work on the first try we've been asked to create another page with a Captcha to see if it's a site wide thing or a forum only thing. Sign in and give let us know if the Captcha works.

Although I'm sure lately I've entered some codes correctly that were rejected, I believe that at least part of the problem with captcha on this site is that the use of completely random letter combinations leads to more human error on the part of the user. Many sites avoid this problem by using more carefully crafted captcha codes - just numbers, or a combination of letters that can be pronounced - even though they might not be real words - like "philbot framp". These are easier for the human to recognize and remember and should provide adequate security. Can we not switch to all numbers, for example?
