The value of using a metronome to practice is included in many discussions both here and on the main forum. One of the best videos on the subject I've seen is by Jason Ricci (Moon Cat). (Search on YouTube for "Jason Ricci metronome", I don't know how to embed this stuff). I find his videos generally are clearly explained and cover all levels of skill. This one, especially, is good for us beginners.

I know on the main forum as soon as you mention Jason you get input from detractors as well as supporters. That's why I've posted this here. I love this beginners forum for its lack of negativity. Personally I find Jason both humble and personable. He has excellent skills and is willing to share his knowledge. For free! (Although he will accept donations through Patreon).

Good observation about this beginners' forum, ME.HARPDOC. They've got another 'crap on the Memphis Mini and Rick Davis' discussion going over over on the Main, iteration number 5 or 6, I think..... I just viewed the Ricci metronome video. Good catch. I've been spending a bit more time with a metronome lately and it's been a good thing. I also have a drum machine app that adds some variety. Also, I walk a lot, frequently several miles, for exercise. I've begun playing some as I walk a steady pace. Maybe not as disciplined as a metronome, but I feel like my whole body gets into it.
(Full disclosure...I have a mini and am happy with it. Also have an abiding belief in 'to each his own'.)
