Just an introduction. I'm a 74 year old newby to the harp. I'm still not familiar with how to find the threads I'm looking for. I've an addictive nature, already have 11 harps and have just been playing melody and trying to learn from instructional books until I was led to look into purchasing the Beginners Deluxe from this site by Rev. Fred Klett, an accomplished blues player himself.
Charlie Musselwhite, James Cotton, Adam Gussow, Jerry Portnoy and Steve Guyger are a few of the players whose style got me wanting to be able to just blow some slow blues when the urge hits. The shakuhachi, which I do play doesn't quite get it.
Any way...that's it folks. Whoops, I forgot to mention Charlie McCoy.

Rev. Fred Klett, I know that guy! I consider him a friend, although I'm certain that most that share interactions with him feel the same. Welcome to the forum!

Very nice, Pablo! I guess we can all relate to the addictive nature thing, at least when it comes to playing the harmonica. :)

Hey Pablo, I know what you mean, I was up most of the night reading about harmonica equipment and such...

I had to google shakuhachi, I didn't know that was the name of those type of flutes. Another instrument that can be taken anywhere and played while walking, nice.

if your searching the threads for info on a computer, on the left side of page put your mouse over Blues Harp Forum without clicking, a menu comes up, click on search forum, above the picture is a search area, type in what your searching for, click search, First there will be google ads, then below will be links to various threads. On a phone its the same except in the 3 lines in top right press on that, then scroll down to Blues Harp Forum, press that and get the menu for forum search.

Thanks for the input, all of you. And ScottK for the 'search' tip. I had to smile at the reference to "playing while walking" in regards to the shakuhachi. Heck, I've been playing for a dozen years and it usually takes a minute just to get my embouchure correct. But bending a note is a lot easier to do than on Blues Harp.
