Hey folks:

Sorry not to have posted here in a while, so welcome to all of you who have joined since then.

I wanted to make you all aware of a series of videos I've recently been uploading to YouTube. The videos seek to answer basic questions that beginners have about every aspect of the harmonica.

Here's a link to the playlist on my newer YouTube channel in which I post those videos:

basic blues harmonica questions answered!

I've also hyperlinked those videos on a new page on this website:

FAQ's (continued)

I've got a long list of topics/questions that I'll be making videos for in the next few months. I'm interested not just in addressing basic technical concerns, but in exploring what might be called harmonica-related topics, sometimes in a humorous way.

If you've got specific ideas for videos that would fit within this question-and-answer format (i.e., with a video title that takes the form of a question), please post it here or, if you want, email me directly: asgussow (at) aol (dot) com.

Hi Adam,

I'm enjoying your latest series of videos. Short, concise and yes, humorous answers to harmonica questions.

My suggestion would be a video on using higher key harps. Lately I've been trying to use my E and F harps more and find them more difficult than lower keys. What are your tips for playing well on higher key harps? What are some good examples of blues songs using these keys that a beginner should listen to?

Thanks for the opportunity to ask.

My question would be 'why is it that there are relatively so few female blues harp players?' . It's something that has always confused me, that it seems to be such a male dominated instrument. I know there are the exceptions, but on the whole it seems to be the case.
