I've heard that there are at least a few in the MADISON area. Anyone have more info?

Thanks!

I am not as familiar with any Madison jams, however I would also be interested in case someone posts some info. I did see on a post here about busking a link that indicated opportunities for outside playing in downtown Madison when the weather get warmer.
Here in Waukesha there is an open mic night from 8 to 12 on Fridays at Sprizzo's cafe. Also my guitar man said that the Lucky Rabbit has jam sessions on Mondays, but I need to check it out to get more info. We may eventually try these venues once we get some more practice time in.

Just played a Blues Jam at the Lucky Rabbit in Waukesha WI. Great non-intimidating atmosphere and harp friendly. The guy who ran the jam was very accomodating to me, considering I was a newbie. I was able to sit in and play for at least a good hour or so. Real diverse variety of instruments.

The jam runs on Mondays from 7-10PM.

Some more Wisconsin Blues Jams to check out:

Spirits Bar and Grill
South Milwaukee
Thursdays 8:30PM

Nice Ash
Downtown Waukesha
Teusdays 8:00PM

Kranky's Bar
Pewaukee (near the lake)
Thursdays 8:00PM

I have not played at these jams so I cannot comment on the venue, however I do know who runs them and can at least recommend checking them out. I would like to check these out however other priorities at home generally limit me to one jam a week. Maybe after I retire in about 15yrs to 20yrs from now I may have more time.

Hi WI people...

Glenn Davis hosts two blues jam's--one in Lake Geneva at (I think) Harry's Bar (I think Thurs. night) and the other is just across the border in Richmond, IL on Sunday afternoons.

Your're right...used to be some in Madison and one in Delavan...High Noon? A place in Middleton that I think may have something going on. I'm way out of that scene right now.

Some of the ones I posted prior have dried up. One new one in Waukesha at The Salty Toad Wednesday nights at 8 PM. I heard of another in Waukesha on Wednesdays from a guy at work, but he did not have details. So see what else comes up.

I'm pretty sure the Glenn Davis ones are still happening. I'll find out though. I live way up north and only get down that way occasionally. I'll hit up my Madison contacts though to see what's shakin there. Let me know if you find anything new...

At least as of last year per his facebook page Glenn is hosting jams at Harry's cafe in Lake Geneva Wednesdays from 9 to 12. Also at Red's Steakhouse just across the border in IL Sundays from 2 to 6. I remember seeing Red's when heading down to Fox Lake to take the metra into Chicago. Both of these jams are a bit far to go to normally, but if I'm in the area.

Ya...it's the Red's one I've been to. Found it totally by accident when my family and I were down that way. My wife's parents (she's a bass player) live in Twin Lakes and we were headed to Richmond and saw the sign. People there were great. Glenn used to play with an old band mate so I had met him before. They also took my oldest son under their wing and included him for several months after while he was living in Whitewater. Great fun too.

Any updates on Madison jams? Headed that way in a few days again.

Also a plug for the jams at Iron Mikes in Franklin, WI. Awesome place. The Thursday night and Sunday afternoon I believe. Crazy great fun!
