I recently acquired three Buddha Golden Melodies. They are for 100% worked on by Chris. They are in the keys of C, A, and D.

These are sort of odd ball harps in that they have the original combs. The covers have also been modified, but they are frankly a bit messy, IMO. He used a green gel for reed dampening instead of wax or clear polish (which wasn't uncommon from him) and over time it started to make some of the reeds stick. It was not a good idea.

I cleaned up the harps and stuck reeds then did nothing else with them (at this point). They appear to have reed work consistent with the other Buddha harps I've seen with the only issue being the need to clean the gel off of the reeds and reed slots. The reed plates are in great shape, but they are most likely "vintage" as he often used older GM plates and these harps all have brass screws.

Originally, I was going to totally refurbish them with dymonwood combs and new covers. However, I thought I'd see if anyone was interested in them as they are (playable, all stock parts, and no checking of the tuning). I would sell all three for $80 each (includes shipping in the US).

Otherwise, I would be more than willing to refurbish each harp for $105 each. This would include checking the gaps and tuning, a dymonwood comb, new cover plates, and other general maintenance. I would include the original combs and covers as well.

Thanks.

Manji "C"

- For trade: harp, lesson, the asking???

HIstory:

- I normally play MBs, but wanted to experiment with "high end" harmonica, so I got one for my b-day in Oct
- It's well made, but I prefer playing my MBs and it's just sitting on my bench gently weeping
- I played it probably a dozen times and never gigged with it

Help me find a home for this lonely harp.

Ok, I'm probably going to get flamed for this but...

When Adam set up this the original "for sale" thread it was about individual members buying and selling and trading used gear. I believe he originally asked that commercial posts not be made.

I have nothing against the many customisers and mic techs on the forum. I wish you all well and I hope your businesses are doing well in these hard times, but it seems the line between private sales and commercial has become somewhat blurred.

It seems many of you are benefitting directly from free advertising on this forum In fact we had one guy join and in his first few post advertise his wares. He hasn't posted since. (There are some notable exceptions - respected folk who limit their advertising to just a link in their sigs)

So are you guys paying at least something back to Adam for the advertising? hosting a site like this doesn't come cheap!

*Edit*

OK I checked back and the original wording was "corporate" so I guess it's was bit grey to start with. Nevertheless my reason for making the post remain the same.

Adam, Mods: what's the official line? Tell me I'm out of line and I'll drop it, but I see so many posts these days (not just in this thread) that are basically just commercials.

I know this thread probably isn't the place for this, but I'm not sure if we should really start another thread for this. I can definately see where MrVLU is coming from, in fact I've honestly been thinking the same thing recently. I didn't really feel it was my place to say anything, but since the subject's already been broached.... I don't see anything wrong with people reposting their for sale items again from time to time. It lets people know that the items haven't yet been sold and are still for sale. Or if someone advertising services hasn't posted in quite awhile, I don't see too much problem with reposting to make sure it doesn't get lost along with all the old posts that people may skip over.
But I personally think that making posts advertising your services every other day on this thread , or in some cases everyday(literally), is really taking advantage of this forum/thread and is a bit over the top unneccesary.

This is just my opinion, and I of course have no say in how things are done here. I don't mean to scold anyone, and I do think most people have used this thread in the spirit in which it was intended, and I'm glad we have this thread (I know I personally have found some good deals here). That's my 2 cents.

EDIT: If the mods. think I should delete/move this post, I will. I know this isn't the best place, and I know this thread should be restricted to it's purpose.

MP, Have you taken offense to something I said? It certianly wasn't my intention. What exactly are you taking offense to?
I never said I had a problem with selling old harmonicas, or other harmonica related equipment (I'm not sure how you would have even got that idea). Nor did I say I had a problem with people, such as yourself, letting people know about services you offer (i.e reed replacements, etc.). I also said I didn't have a problem with reposting that information here from time to time, within reason. I personally just think that it's over the top to post advertisements for oneself on a daily/near-daily basis. Do you disagree with that?
If someone just posted an adervertisement for their harp related services, is it really neccesary for them to come back the next day (or the day after that) and post the advertisement again?

This is in danger of turning into an argument, which I'm not interested, and perhaps this should be moved to a different thread.

I'd be interested to hear the moderators chime in, or better yet Adam. If he doesn't mind people posting advertisements for their business/services on a daily basis, then I'll understand and I won't say anything. I just thought I'd give my opinion on the situation since someone brought it up.

I just got a 1963 concert so I don't need 2 big 4x10 amps

The Harpgear is a great amp ! My loss is your gain !!

Must sell ASAP Price Reduced to $ 999. plus shipping .

Here's your chance to own a slightly used Like New Harp Amp
Price reduced to $ 999. plus shipping

My contact is on my website
Thanks Todd

From the The HarpGear site

The HarpGear 50 is HarpGear's next step in building a full sized amp which achieves 50W using a fixed bias 6L6 setup. This is the amp that Jason Ricci has recently endorsed and now uses exclusively on the road. This amp is setup specifically for harmonica and uses all of our standard harp amp modifications we have become known for. This amp was designed to add flexibility to our amp line and allow you to play in any size venue with the confidence of knowing you won't need to mic the amp or connect the line out to the sound board. The standard HarpGear 50 uses two Weber 10A125 custom alnico speakers and two Jensen Special Design P10R alnico speakers with one 12AX7 and one 12AX7WC preamp tube 2- 6L6 power tubes and 1-5AR4 rectifier tube. The amp has three adjustable tone controls being Bass, Middle and Treble. This amp has an oversized custom wound output transformer like the other amps and even more great bass to really accentuate those low notes while you're playing. The tube configuration for this amp is as follows:(1)5AR4 (2) 6L6 power tubes (1) 12AX7WC (1) 12AX7 preamp tube. This amp is 23"H X 24"W x 10.5"D and weighs 45 lbs. This amp will generate 50 watts of power which comes across very loud.
