Yes... and if I have my dates right we fell back to the Barbary for a killer jam... Bob Margolin, George Porter Jr., and Gatemouth Brown. Were you there?

sure was nancy!
i was drinking a beer and eating my first cheesesteak and i saw my first pro female blues harp player. that really blew my mind.

if memory serves me right you guys/gal had red uniforms and you had a green bullet?

i had to get back to harrisburg for my girlfriends grandmothers birthday so i missed buddy guy and the jam later and was very unhappy.

all i got was a picture of me and bob margolin. nice guy. he was doing a duo with pinetop perkins.

you're a very fine player.

lonny brooks band was there too.

You have a good memory! ...and thanks for the kind words! I am thinkin that Sonny may have been sporting the red and white polka dot suit and turban that made the cover of Living Blues back then! That would automatically trigger Ms Annie Rhodes to put us all in red shirts and black pants! Rhodeswarriors...

I am sorry that you missed the rest of the show ... for your girlfriend... nice of you to give in, but are you still with the same girl??? I guess time tells us everything we need to know....!
A picture with Bob Margolin is a nice consolation.

If you go to the photo page of my website and scroll to the bottom "snapshots from the road" - there are pics in those slide shows from that jam... one of Gate and one of Bob... both taken from onstage (something I very rarely do... but what the hell!).

Thanks again for your kindness and keep blowin that harp!

you're welcome nancy,

ah, so the uniforms were mrs. rhodes idea.

i thought it looked country.

i was in a country band during the urban cowboy scare and we all wore these blue vests and flared pants and we looked like dorks.

i'll check your site out.

MP and I grew up together in the early 60's, in Honolulu.
Here's proof,..that's me, on the far right..back row...and MP is three to my left....HA!
We used to go barefoot to school. We had to walk though kiawe trees (thorns) to get to school. After 1st grade, we started to wear shoes/slippa's...it was quite the paradise lifestyle for a kid growing up in Honolulu...especially where we did. A walk to the beach, and all the houses were connected through our own little trails. The stretch of homes went about a mile up the coastline.Only the kids knew.
Nobody stole from anyone, and everybody knew each other.
Well, as a kid, you had to steal shit...because you can, and were more curious. But soon learned, that it is not something you want to do again and again...or you get punched real hard in the head.
The next is us checkin out the surf...at the local "beautiful people" hang out,(it was flat that day).
So we just hung out and played harp for the sunbathers.
The next is me...That's the white 200 mod.
I test out all my mics, before I send them out to their new owner.
I forget who bought this one, but it was a cool dude in Spain...or was it Italy?, or Sweden?
Oh well. It was a good'n.

The Harp guy is me...we are playing at the Twin Cities Blessing of the Bikes outing. A ton of Harley/Biker guys all come and get their bikes blessed. It was a lot of fun.

Since a lot of you posterized your pix...I gave that at go as well.

Blessing of the Bikes
