Some B-Radicals were shipped last week. I didn't order a Bb so I haven't seen mine yet, any reviews from those who have received them? What do you like, dislike, size, feel tone, ease of play? Thanks.

This is pure torture....there's gotta be some sort of UN convention that outlaws dangling harmonica crack in front of harp addicts who "officially" still have two months to wait for their fix, which probably means they'll be jonesin' for another four. Damn that's good sounding s*%t.

Someday my harps will come, someday my harps will come, someday my harps will come, someday my harps will come, someday my harps will come....

I totally know what you are talking about blue moose.

When I see how cool this harp looks and how excited players I respect give it the thumbs up I get all fired up.

Since we are getting all excited with a long time to wait until our itch is satisfied maybe we can coin a phrase and say that what we are experiencing should be refered to as "Blues Balls"

i was sort of expecting more praise for the beast. from all the hype that came out of the camp, i thought at least one person would continuously be going on about it.

how about anything that somebody who owns one can find, no matter how insignificant or nit picky, they find wrong with it. (just so those of us that are still waiting can feel a bit better about.)

I played one for a few minutes. My impressions:

1) 9 and 10 OD were suddenly a possibility. Prob owing to quality setup. Bending overdraws was easy, but if I gap my marine bands good, it's easy there too. But on my mb, they do not bend as far.

2) Beautiful, sweet design. Coverplates are held in by pressure, not screws? How cool is that!

3) The coverpate shape would take some getting used to. Kinda squarish feeling. Not really a problem, just not something I was expecting.

Do I want a set? YES! Can I afford it? Nope. But, I might try to pick up a second job (once all the keys are available) so I can buy a set. $2000 would buy me all I need. Hey, my piano was $2000 (almost). Actually, I'll just sell my pipe collection.

There is another phenomenon I'm thinking of too. I used to collect smoking pipes. Some guys will pay alot of money for pipes. I'm talking thousands. So, at a pipe show, I asked a guy what made him buy such an expensive pipe. His response:

"I will never make enough money to have a fancy house. I will never be able to buy the best car. But I can buy the best pipe in the world that money can buy."

that helps, jon.
i was originally thinking more along the lines of "hair falling out" or "sores all over the body", but i thought that would be waaay extreme.
leaves stains on you lips. that would be good! lol.

i gotta remember that philosophy, phogi. i mean, we only go around once, right?

With its price point and so far massive wait time, I would rather invest in a custom harp or more about setting my own up. In fact, these harps probably should be considered custom harps. Until you can order them in the same keys and same wait time as a Hohner or Suzuki, etc. Comparing to an ootb harp is not apples to apples.
