This from another post: [Bilzharp wrote]I think he played it in A and at some point in the mastering it got slowed down a little.
Bilzharp is right----Beware of old recordings sometimes they were recorded a little slow or fast ---so if too slow ---its a little flat etc--- I think some recordings of "Juke" do this
I cant remember, to lazy to look it up---I think "Juke" was originally in F--Bb harp In the [free recording software "Audacity"] I changed from Key of F to 1/2 step lower E-- for backing track --very easy with 'audacity'
IN AUDACITY; hit "edit" select all then go to "Effect" at top Then select "change Pitch" Then in The pop up where it says "from" put F Then in the "too" box put E hit ok U just changed the key of the song from "F to E" Make sure u select E [1/2] below F-
If recording is off [flat or sharp] at the bottom of same pop up u can raise the pitch in small increments until in tune
to do that in the pop up go to bottom Frequency stuff From F is 87.307 to E 82.407 So if a little flat try raising the E from 82.407 to say 83.000 [Type it in etc} Sometimes its not U -----sometimes the recording is off---- i think it was "Juke"---I just couldn't get it ---sounded horrible _ I fix'd the pitch of recording and Then I was right on pitch Slow down software and Audacity are A must for learning--take advantage of new technology
US OLD GUYS HAD TO RUIN RECORDS-- AND THEN BUY THEM AGAIN TO LEARN STUFF---PICK NEEDLE UP AND DROP BACK DOWN AGAIN--WHAT USE TO TAKE WEEKS TO LEARN NOW TAKES DAYS and no ruined records Ive learned a lot on this sight Thanks Hope this helps someone Thanks again
