My last post was about tunings. I don't know how far this lets you retune, but it's with a screw instead of a file (or blue tack). My harmonicas don't go out of tune much but the possibilities for experimenting with tunings is pretty impressive. I'm going to try one.

That's a great idea, though I can foresee it raises a few issues like calibration etc.

I guess Jim's going for a patent for manufacturers, but I imagine it would add significantly to the cost of a harp.

Interesting development though!

What is the +/- range of each reed?

For trying out alternate tunings, this could pay for itself pretty quickly.

Bravo!

I don't think it would transpose more than a whole step without issue.
Perhaps I am wrong, I am just guessing, based on the TurboSlide.

Cool. Now we can be as annoying as guitar players, endlessly tuning after every song.

Garry... lol... As long as the screws don't strip we should be able to stay in key for a set... although I guess you do get those guitar guys who don't just tune up but switch tunings. :)

It seems to me that this would be great for changing intonation--Just tuning is great, but not good for 12th.
Also, I bet you could change to Country Tuning, and possibly Paddy.
Probably not B Thing tho . . .
