Over a short period of time Paradise is gone. Two of its best known and loved residents, harp players Norton Buffalo (2009) and Lazy Lester (2018), left us. Now, after a wildfire, the town itself, Paradise, California, and "Norton Buffalo Hall" a venue belonging to the Paradise Community Guilds, are all gone. RIP

Yes tragic news, so many lives impacted by this level of devastation. Hopefully the people will get plenty of support.

I just did some reading at: www.nortonbuffalohall.com

It looks like the music hall was a fantastic part of the Paradise community. It was especially heartbreaking to read the support page including improvements that the members were working on for the building: a new roof, better disability access...

Paradise will definitely need a new hall, better than ever. I found these general donation instructions.

Make out your check to "Paradise Community Guilds"

• Send it with any instructions to:

It's about time I got around to this.

Just got off the phone with my sister, who lives there; they evacuated Tuesday morning, are now in Sacramento with relatives; They had some singed siding on a shed, but other than that, no damage. The town will take a while to heal.
