Just bought a T3 off of our local version of ebay.(deceased estate)All i wanted was the shell so i could fit a C/M that i have.(this only the second T3 i have ever seen come up on the site in 10 years of watching)
Well bugger me when it turned up in the post i was astounded.... plugged it in and it worked! Not only did it work but when i opened it up it still had the original element in it as in marked as Jan '39.
This has to be a crystal?Hope the photos come out clear enough for you guys to read the labels etc.
It doesn't give out a huge hot signal but it is still a lovely warm thick tone.
Love to hear your thoughts on this.An 80 year old crystal that works..who'd of thought it.

Incredibly cool. I picked up an Astatic 200. The element, date stamped 1942, had a capacitor wired to the back. The chord was cut off and I have yet to test the element.

I did get a Masco A-17 amp, estimated to be from 1944. Still playable but now a Skip Simmons rebuild (skipsimmonsamps.com) should help it last another 70+ years. Nice to know we used to build things to last.
