I was recently given an old DeArmond Model 1600 Volume Pedal and am wondering if anybody has ever used one through a P.A. system for harp, just it, no other pedals, yet. Where would the vol. pedal go in the sequence should I add a delay and maybe a chorus pedal and maybe something like a Harp Attack?

The underside of this relic is open so I can see that the beast needs some TLC. Basically, it has just two wires that are currently unattached to the vol. pot. Those wires are A: yellow plastic covered silver wire mesh and B: uncovered copper wire mesh. They are housed together in a grey plastic wire They come from the "Amp" 1/4" female port, the "out" port.

The "Inst." port, the "in" port, has its two, same, color-coded wires attached to the vol. pot on the two outside of three points of connection, soldered on. the yellow wire is connected to the point that is closest to the base of the pedal, situated closest to the inside of the ports at the "front" of the pedal. The copper mesh wire is soldered to the point closest to the "top", where the foot would lay. So, I hope those two wires are connected properly. I expect they are. I hope y'all can visualize this so that maybe someone can help me know where/how to connect the other two, free wires.

One way to visualize this is to see a picture of the guts of this seemingly simple pedal. I don't have one to use here so let's imagine holding your right hand in front of you, palm facing you, with three fingers extended, pointing left, towards the "front" of the pedal where the inside of the ports are. Let's say those are the three points of connection I need to sort out so that they receive the right wires.

I am hoping that the vol. pot is okay and that this could be a simple fix. This next question may be silly but I have to ask... Is it possible to use superglue gel to attach the two wires I have to deal with?

Thanks in advance for any and all info, points of reference for said pedal and past experiences with the DeArmond Model 1600 Volume Pedal, mad by Rowe-DeArmond, Inc., TOLEDO, OHIO, U.S.A.

I used to use a DeArmond 1602 volume pedal into the PA. Nice pedal. The only issue was trying to determine how far to press the pedal down if you had increased or decreased volume and wanted to return to a “neutral” setting. There’s no way to calibrate that.

If I were using it with other pedals, I would put it first in chain.
