With so many quality players here i’ve always been reticent to upload anything.

This might be something a little different.

Very inventive! So what Harp alteration did you make to play Money for Nothing?

I really liked your YouTube clip and would like to know how you got the chord sounds for the Kashmir riff out. Much respect and I admire your post.
I've only ever modified one harp to get the bend for "On The Road Again"

Thanks for the compliments and interest.

Money for Nothing actually plays fairly well in standard Richter. It’s more what you would expect from a harmonica adaptation. Not a bad thing. It’s musical but it doesn’t have all the double stops. I wanted to more accurately copy the guitar part.

The song is in the key of ‘G’ and i used the following tuning:

C....F....Bb....G....F....G
D....G.....C....D

Note the weird 4 Blow who’s ‘G’ note is actually pitched below Blow 3. You have to build up muscle memory or it throws you off. It’s played starting on Draw 2/4.

For Kashmir the pedal tone is ‘D’ and the tuning is:

G....B....D....A.....B....C#....F....G
A....D....F....Bb....C....D.....E....F#

I probably need to fine tune the harp i used on that one. I’d also welcome any suggestions on temperament. It’s played starting on Blow 3/4.

I’m mostly a pucker player but these require some tricky tongue blocking.

Very cool! I do a little bit of pedal tone note playing, but only when it lays out on richter.

Love this kinda stuff. I've thrown a few harmonicas into wacky tunings and it is always followed by a small creative explosion as one fools around trying to find their way. Thanks for sharing. I'm dreaming of a harmonica that as easy to change tunings as a guitar is. I see Brendan has been working on something like this! (with swappable reeds)

Here's the aforementioned James Conway who came up with the bagpipe tuning.

And, of course, Howard takes the drone technique to another level...
