This just in...….JAWBONE and JOLENE Live on TV, KTUL Channel 8, Tulsa!! Friday morning, August 17, 9 a.m.!! Thanks to the Tulsa Office of Film, Music, Arts, and Culture.
We got a call from a lady with the above office today. One original song and an interview Friday morning, 10 minutes form the house here. So over the weekend it should be available for sharing and I'll see if I can get it on here.

Hey, that's great.
Just a thought . . . have you guys tried to get gigs over at the casinos around Miami, OK/Joplin, MO? I occasionally see promos/ads for live music at those joints.

@Rontana do you live in the Joplin area?
A word on the casino gigs here...they are mostly interested in cover bands. I did a recurring gig with my acoustic duo for a year at one of the local casinos about once every two months. The entertainment director was constantly asking us to play more recognizable material. We tried, but never had enough for his liking. I noticed, incidentally, that anytime he really likes a band and talks about how good they are, some form of the phrase "sounds just like the record" is invariably used. And that phrase pretty much sums up what they are looking for.

Many moons ago I lived in Joplin . . . am now a couple hours north. Close enough they run a bus several times a week from the local Walmart parking lot down to the casinos.
I've never been . . . I'm so good at losing money that extra practice isn't needed.
Hmmm . . . the "sounds like" manager does not sound like a good time.

Slight off topic here, I just changed my mind about working at a local casino. Tip gig but it was too complicated to consider doing part time. And before that I found it was a bureaucratic jumble getting to the "right" person to even talk about getting the duo in there. So since we don't do pop rock covers it's not something I plan to pursue at the moment.

I enjoyed that, Jawbone. I thought you and Jolene did a good job, both in the interview and the song. Best of luck to you and your wife in the Tulsa music scene. Looks like you two are on the way up.
