Harmonica geeks, take note... I want to give a shout-out to Lone Wolf Blues and my friend Randy Landry--as well as the great Jason Ricci--for their work on the fantastic Jason Ricci Signature Microphone.

I've been a Lone Wolf endorser for about eight years now; all of their products are useful, but I've mainly been a user of their effect pedals. I was looking for a mic for amplified playing that fit my hands well (I've never favored bullet mics but wanted something that was a nice compromise between a stick/57 type and a bullet. Obviously, I also wanted it to sound great.

This microphone fills the bill in spades. It has penetrating, full tone that is easy to shape. (It comes in a bunch of cool colors, too... I went with the purple, seen below). I love using it alongside my BlowsMeAway Ultimate 58 (for clean harmonica and vocals). I hope to make a video soon, but in the meantime, I'll just say kudos to Lone Wolf for continuing their tradition of innovative service to the harmonica world.

I tried one, but I still sounded like me, not Jason.
