I heard him a couple times in Clarksdale; he can blow the living s*** out of the high end of a harp.

He's also a member of MENSA. Very intelligent.

Groyster, how?

Harpcrab, I read a joke once that was touted as being a from the Mensa Magazine, although I've seen it other places... Rene Descartes walked into a bar and ordered a drink. When he was done the bartender asked him if he'd like another to which he said, "I think not" and poof, he disappeared.

I never knew what to think of Mensa. It always seemed a bit elitist. Yes, being smarter than average might lead you to have a certain set of interests, but it seems to me the better way to deal with that is to have a group for that interest. And the cutoff seems kind of arbitrary, what is the difference in interests between someone in the 97th percentile and someone in the 98th when you get right down to it? It always seemed more about social signalling.

My aunt, by the way, got a perfect score on her SATs.

Ah, okay. When members self-police it does make it so much easier to moderate! :)

I lived with a MENSA woman....MENSA is mostly a group of like minded people who can easily relate with each other...kinda like a harmonica chat group!

Many years ago I was "recruited" to join a Mensa group that was local to where we were living at the time.

I thanked them and politely declined, roughly paraphrasing the old Groucho line that I refuse to join any club that would have me as a member.

At the time it didn't occur to me to ask, but to this day I still don't know how (or more specifically why) they would have cause or motivation to approach me.

Don't know nuthin about them.....
