Great stuff. Not only fun and great musicianship in action, but interesting to hear the contrast offered by the Power tuned harp against solo tuned chromatic. Also, great demo of how handy the Lucky 13 can be when switching roles like that.
Thanks Sarge and Robbert. Yes, the Lucky 13 is nice for accompanying situations as its extra bottom-end gets out of the soloists range and gives a nice low rhythm pad for them to bounce off.
Jacob is amazing. His first instrument is bass, and he's a high-level jazz bassist on upright and electric. He also plays piano and other keyboard instruments really well, and is currently studying to play those massive old pipe organs in Danish churches! He's also an excellent drummer and percussionist, plus plays banjo, mandolin and stuff. He picked up the chromatic later on at a summer camp in Canada and within 6 months was sounding great on that too! I really like the fluidity of his jazzy chrom playing, sounds very free and natural.
I met Jacob when I was working for Suzuki, and we did some promo videos for them in a film studio owned by a friend of his. In a few weeks he learned chord and bass harmonicas for the videos; here's a sample of some clips:
