Hey Danny, I'm going to be there. It will be good to see you again, but the only sushi in those parts will be catfish.......

Maybe folks will put their username on their nametag-I don't post much and no one knows me, but it might put faces to some familiar usernames.

I’m there. I’m hoping to be able to hook up with someone to get a lift back to Memphis

Heya John, just don't put 11 instead of 2 on your order for catfish...

Will be good to see you...

I've done the forum name on the name tag at previous hchs..

SuperBee, you are coming from OZ? I will be going back through Memphis Sunday, but maybe before the concert, and you are welcome to ride along. I expect quite a few folks will be going that way as well.

I have actually been looking forward to this event for about 5 years, but unfortunately after all that waiting, I won’t be able to make it. Hope everyone has a blast!

Hi Hooktool, thank you. That could work.
I’m in a slight pickle because I haven’t been able to rent a car; my own fault and entirely foreseeable in retrospect.
I’m currently holed up at the shack up inn outside clarksdale. Slightly inconvenient without a car, but hoping to meet some people tonight at the bluesberry cafe and maybe be able to get a lift. Otherwise i guess its the $120 cab ride

If you get stuck, you can call me in the morning. I'm leaving Nashville early and will be in the Memphis area around noon. Its not exactly on the way, but its manageable. Don't pay for a cab ride-if you need a ride, I can get you. You could pay me in harp lessons, and there's nothing like a small adventure.

Thank you so much Hooktool.
I’m in the lobby of the shack up inn right now. Ive heard there may be someone here who is willing to give me a lift, but I have no details, so I’m wearing my Australian cricket shirt and hoping I’ll recognise the likely candidate, or at least the fellow who gave me the message.

What a great day today at hch18.
Terry Bean followed by the Howlin MADD Perry band featuring Magic Dick was such a great show, almost worth the trip by itself.
I thought that was it, but then KingoBad broke out the guitar and the ensuing jam was the most fun jam I’ve ever participated in.
Folks. Hearing KingoBad play Juke in the rack was something else.
Terry Bean stayed around too and was great chatting with him.
I think that jam is probably still cooking but I’m about the hit the fart sack.
Great event.

My wife and i were in Clarksdale last july, stayed in an old furniture store that has turned some spare space into a couple of accommodation units.
Awesome 'cept americans don't seem to appreciate the fact that we Brits ,Aussies and Kiwis can't start a day without a cup of Tea.^)
Unfortunately for us we hit Clarksdale at a very quiet time...there was literally only one bar open,in fact the place seemed deserted.(The bonus though was that one Bar had'Deak Harp' playin'(went to his shop ,could of spent big dollars there. But 200(us) dollars translates to around 400$ NZ)
Apparently we were there one week before a Blues Festival!Talk about bad planning.
Anyways hope it goes well for you on your Odyssey,we had nothing but great experiences on our trip there.
Highlight: sitting in a bar in New Orleans a 50ish black lady asks where we're from? We tell her NZ and that we are there to hear the Blues and in my case Gospel( though i am an atheist)
She says you wanna hear some gospel? Well fuck me she just started singing 'Amazing Grace' .Two O'clock in the afternoon on French street and here we are singing along with this amazing voice. One song and she had to go back to work.

So many great memories...asking Jimi Lee about his diet and watching him go through the various foods in his hardshell case, including organic raw hemp, raw macadamia nuts, coconut milk, coconut oil, no carbs anywhere....connecting with Kingobad, groyster1, Todd Parrott (who is always a huge asset), scojo (likewise)....interviewing Magic Dick and asking him how he got that name, who his influences were (he told an amazing story about a week spent watching and hanging with trumpeter Roy Eldridge, then heading into the studio and throwing down on Stoop Down #39, which is an amazing bit of harmonica magic.) Terry Harmonica Bean blew everybody away with his deep Mississippi sound--then hung out for hours, telling stories about all the greats, who knew his father and passed through Pontotoc, Mississippi, where he's from and still lives.

Adam and Sean (and Jeff Silverman, if he's lurking about)... big kudos for bringing this back. I'll be there any time I'm able. I concur with all the accolades and want to say that it was really nice to see Terry "Harmonica" Bean. I have so much respect for him as a man and as an artist.
