We're still jamming at Harmonicaboogie.com, but I have to admit things are slow. I guess it's due to smartphones and social media. Our "jams" run for six months and to hopefully increase activity, we're giving away a free harp. You can win a new Marine Band, Special 20 or Seydel Session Steel in the key of your choice for having the best track between now and July. So you have plenty of time to get in on it, and you can enter multiple times. Most of us put up a track once or twice a month. It's completely free to participate. We bang the drum at the beginning of every jam for donations to keep the server going but there is no pressure. We have many backing tracks available for you to download, play along to, and then post. It's pretty simple if you have the most basic of recording equipment. I can't say how mobile friendly the site is, but I do listen to it sometimes on my phone. Rick Beall runs the site and I make most of the backing tracks. But anyone is free to post a backing track as long as they have the rights, or permission from the author. If you have any questions, ask here. We used to have a lot of pros but now it's mostly novices and intermediates, so don't be intimidated. Check us out at Harmonicaboogie.com.

I liked it when there was the solo harp section there. No backing track or accompaniment of any kind, just a solo harp.

Hi Sarge,

We still have a solo harp option, it's always one of the most popular ways to put up a track. Just go to the backing track page and scroll to the end. There's Solo 1, Solo 2 and Solo 3, they're all the same. If you need more, we can put them up.

This is a very fun site with some interesting backing tracks (downloaded a "big band" track to practice just last week).

I've been planning to participate again, after missing the last six-month session.

A few years ago I was posting a new track to Harmonicaboogie every week. Making those recordings helped my playing to a whole new level and I also used the recordings elsewhere as demos and gave to some friends. Beelze I'll try to get some posted this Jam. Known as dmb at Harmonicaboogie.

The current jam ends July 8th, there's still time to place an entry and win a new harp. It was great to hear Rontana again. C'mon, let's hear some others! I've followed so many threads here about custom harps and gear, let's hear what that stuff sounds like!

I think that this is a great resource. I haven't posted anything recently, but I used to post frequently. A few of the jam periods, I played nothing but solo tunes. It really helped me a great deal. It forced me to record and review what I was playing over and over again.
