Yes. That's right. That's the big news I've been promising.

Magic Dick will be our Saturday night headliner. He will be backed by the house band. When I asked him what sort of stuff he'll be playing, he said, "Little Walter. Sonny Boy Williamson."

I'll be doing the sort of one-hour, under-the-gazebo interview with him that I did in past years with Billy Branch, Sugar Blue, Charlie Sayles. Of course I'll ask him to teach us a bit of "Whammer Jammer." He'll also be doing a few breakout sessions, but we're still figuring that out.

I may yet regret this, but I hereby commit that the Blues Doctors will play "Whammer Jammer" in the course of our HCH performance. We've done it several times at small gigs. It's a b***h.

Huzzah!

Awesome Adam!! Man, I envy you and wish my band was backing him up since we played it so many times it's like falling off a log. Not complicated but lot's of stops and starts so if you miss something it's hard to get back on board without a train wreck. :-) I killed countless 9 and 10 A harp reeds on that number since we averaged 13 Whammer Jammers a month. All the best! Knock 'em dead! I can't think of a better cat to talk to about blues harp than Richard Salwitz. I'd say have fun but I know everyone will. c yah

I'd just sit there and drink whiskey and cheer of course. I wouldn't care to share the stage w/ the likes of Magic Dick on his showcase piece. Maybe another tune.

Ditto what Cotton says-I had lunch with Magic that day-we talked about cars and motorcycles more than we did music.

Double ditto what Cotton and tmf714 said. One of the nicest guys you will ever meet. Played a great set with The Bad Kind that night too.
