Quick comparison of the Harp Reverb pedal by Lone Wolf Blues Company and an original 1965 Fender Reverb Tank. By the end of the comparison (in my opinion) the Harp Reverb and a '65 Reverb Tank can sound exactly the same. Great job LWBC.

I use a Boss FRB-1, '63 Fender Reverb Pedal and it's right there with the tank sound. Having tried a variety of LW products I fail to understand the enthusiasm of harp players on this site for them. My perspective? Maybe new or different but not necessarily better. ---------- BnT
Thanks for taking the time to comment BnT. I assume you mean a Boss FRV-1 which by the way is about $50 more expensive than the Harp Reverb last I checked. I'm sorry for your failure to understand the enthusiasm for LW products by some of the players on this forum. I think it's wonderful that there is a company making pedals for the harmonica community. I posted this to help those who don't have a reverb pedal compare it to an original 65 reverb tank. While this didn't quite help you I hope it helps somebody else. Peace
Johnny - I have tried LW products and that's why I fail to understand the enthusiasm...and I was initially interested specifically because of their "made especially for harmonica" marketing. But I didn't find the product that special.
As to price new, looks like you're right. On resale I picked up a like new FRV-1 on Craigslist listed at $80, negotiated to $65. So price difference wasn't on my radar. And 5 years later it's going strong.
As to your original point of LW vs a reverb tank, I had both a Fender and a Premier and loved them. But price, portability, and range of capabilities sell a lot of pedals. Great for jams. If I was recording though, I'd use a tank. ---------- BnT
@BnT: My experience is much like yours. I don't share or understand the widespread enthusiasm for the LW pedals. But, tone is a very personal thing, and if other players like them, who are we to pass judgement.
I suspect some of the appeal may have to to with input impedance being optimized for bullet mics. But I don't use bullet mics.
This is a great video! Thanks for posting. The classic tanks were definitely the goal with the Harp Reverb.
