the best speaker for that amp is the one that is in it.
you can have it re-coned.

sometimes the old tired speakers still sound great for harp. is the paper torn? does it have a "rub"

i would take a close look at it and asked myself, do i really need to fix this.

I agree w/ 1847. Unless the speaker coil has dropped just re-cone if necessary.

as they said, get the original one reconed. Neal's Speaker service does a great job.
The weber 12a125-O is an excellent speaker.
I like old school speakers, you can find vintage jensen P12R on ebay, if you want to go that route.
good luck

No doubt some here will think I'm nuts and maybe I am But. I use hair spray on a small brush to reconstitute a speaker cone. Dust off both sides of the cone with a small paint brush then apply the hair spray. Try not to get too wet near the VC to avoid fouling the gap. Set speaker cone down to dry in a warm spot. This will stiffen and toughen cone. OK on paper surrounds also. This is what I use. https://www.pharmapacks.com/products.php?product=Suave-Max-Hold-8-Non-Aerosol-Hairspray-11-oz&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIyqvE05Gs2QIVhIizCh0E_AOaEAQYAiABEgIVlPD_BwE

I also use Beacon 527 cement to dope speaker surrounds. Thin the stuff down some with Acitone and apply with about a 1/2" artists brush, Work quickly, it sets up fast. I do this on a spining turntable plater. https://www.dickblick.com/products/beacon-527-adhesive/?clickTracking=true&wmcp=pla&wmcid=items&wmckw=23628-1002&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIor605pOs2QIViIqzCh3yXgcLEAQYASABEgJYCvD_BwE

Great amp- my fave overall of my collection. I'm keeping the original speaker in mine. I also found two similar vintage Jensens on Reverb.com to have as backups. I think I paid $120 or $140 for the two of them. Probably go to a Weber as an alternate if I was gonna try something different.

The only repair I do on speakers are paper cone tears - repaired with tissue or paper towel soaked with Elmers glue. YouTube video's aplenty on this.

Let us know if you put something in you like.

mojohand - I like your 125-O idea. I've used both their 8" and 10" versions and have been really pleased with them. Sure, reconing is an option and Neal's has a good rep. I'd favor those choices over buying a vintage speaker online and hoping for the best (though I've done that before with mixed results). If you go the Weber route ask them about treating the cone with fabric softner. Stiff, new paper cones can quickly go vintage. Great sound.

Me too. It actually works in a lot of cases on very small tears.
