And electronic frisking by dept of homeland security.

I can hardly believe this is happening; I’m staying in the the south/south west about 5 weeks. I’m practicing driving on the Rhs already. People here seem so surprised when I give way to the left. It’s nerve wracking but I find it helps to have a few drinks beforehand.

Nah, just excited. I’m staying with my friend down in Alabama, he’s a former fireman, now city fire inspector and father of the year. That’s gonna be great to meet his family; we’ve been close friends over 30 years since back when he was an Aussie.
I see Jimi Lee is gonna be there too. Hes like my harp-father
I don’t get out much. This will be the second time I’ve left Australia in my life, and it’s taken a harmonica event to get me moving.

I am so looking forward to meeting people I’ve been corresponding and doing business with for years.

Wow, that is awesome!

Still trying to clear my schedule to make it (haven't missed one yet) but I hope to see you there!

It is truly an awesome event!

Jeff and I spent 45 minutes on the phone tonight with a huge get. Our headliner. Guess all you want; we'll say nothing until we announce, because of course something COULD go wrong. But big news is coming down the pike.

hey SuperBb - does your flight go via LAX?

It will. Haven’t booked the flights yet, but that’s the next thing and the only remaining thing.
Just about every flight is into LAX before heading onto ATL.
I’m also planning to leave via LAX, but not sure yet exactly how I’ll get there. After HCH I’ll have 10-14 days left to explore. I did plan to make my way to California, maybe via Colorado and Yosemite, or maybe further south. Then I watched that mini documentary about Paul Oscher and started thinking about the possibility of heading down to Austin. But one way or another I’m expecting to be entering and exiting via LA

@SuperBee - You can catch Paul Oscher most any Thursday night at CBoys in Austin. Of course he might be in Europe, or Elsewhere, the week you're in town, but a trip to Austin is never wasted. Unless, of course, you get too wasted.

"Thirty minutes from LAX" ... When I read that I suppose I must take into account, presumably, that you´re talking about driving half an hour.
Then you want to have a few drinks, perhaps (if you were me you´d want a lot of them!), and then you´d want to get home. (A potential conflict there.)

Much as I dislike Gothenburg, Sweden (and I do dislike it) I can make my way around town here on foot, or tram, or bike, even with a small amp in my hands.
These American cities seem kind of ... abstract to me and sometimes I wonder how you congregate.

if you are a tourist, just get a place close by and take a taxi. if you are a local, you only get to have one drink.

1847: I'm going to have to delete that visual of yours, because it is spazzing out this thread. Sorry about that.

Edited to add: I was unable to delete only the visual, so I ended up having to delete your entire post. Sorry about that! But something had to be done.

Usually a request to the post er to edit is sufficient.

Hi Sundancer. I’ll look out for a message.
BN, so long as I don’t need a crate for the Valkyrie too!
1847, that image Kudzu deleted was inspiring. I’m not much of a top shelf drinker...i try hard not to be...my friend once gave me a bottle of scotch and i got it out when he visited me the next year...he was bemused...”how the #### do you keep a bottle for a year”
But that picture kept ringing my bell until i found myself with a short glass of water and ice in hand last night. And now its gone, like it never happened. Except there’s still 4/5ths of a bottle in my cupboard

SB: You're quite right: usually that sort of request will do. In this case, though, the entire thread south of the visual was jumping up and down so badly, in a way I've never seen anything remotely resemble, that I couldn't wait. I could barely compose my own line or two. It took me 30 seconds to enter the captcha. So this wasn't a usual case, and given what I was dealing with, I stand by my decision. It gave me no pleasure.

I used to get that with certain things people would share, often in the for sale thread. Some of those hosting sites load up kind of weird.
