These are two harps I recently finished building for Doc Malone who is one of Jason’s long-time students. They are two of the Jason Ricci Limited Edition harps featuring the CNC Milled covers. They are all sold but I will make another batch after the first of the year. Doc went with a two-tone design, using Black Nickel Plated and Chrome Plated Aluminum Combs and Covers, that I think came out looking fantastic. Both harps are set up for full chromatic playing via the use of overblows and overdraws.

That last picture would make a great poster or T-shirt....btw, my student, George (from Ricci/Magic Dick workshop) is probably going to have you revamp a pre-war harmonica he found.... ---------- The Iceman
Wow Beautiful work-- suoer clean---Id show-off as well I met u at spah--i LIKE PEOPLE WITH A SENSE OF HUMOR---especially when their work is impeccable-Don't lose that sense of humor What keys? how much when available?
Iceman - have him send it to me. I'll take good care of him.
Snowman - I remember meeting you. The harps pictured above are a D (Black Comb, Chrome Covers) and a Bb (Chrome Comb, Black Covers), but other than for conversations' sake, that doesn't matter. All the JR Limited Edition Harps were built to order so the customers all had their choice of key, comb and covers. I had some covers done in Black Nickel and some done in Chrome. Some were vented and some non-vented. I only made 19 sets of covers. So the people who ordered early were able to have their pick of whatever they wanted. Once I got down to only a handful of covers, the choices got a little bit limited, but I think everyone came away happy with what they ordered.
The price on these is $300. That includes setting up the reed plates any way you want. Basically you're going to go for a Blues Set-up or an Overblow/Overdraw Set-up if you play chromatically.
The feedback so far has been very favorable, but I would not be surprised if I got some good ideas for improvement from the first batch of owners. Once all that data is in, I will do another batch after the first of the year. It is a lot of work and a major undertaking. But if the demand is there, I'll do it.
Here's a video Jason did.
And another one from SPAH featuring Todd Parrott.

Tom, I just wanted to chime in about your combs... I've got a red (I think acrylic - if not, then corian) comb on one of my Seydel 1847 harps--bought it from you at SPAH 2016--and it went from playing slightly better than typical OOTB to WAY better than OOTB. The OBs and ODs are as smooth as almost any custom I've played. I honestly never thought much about the importance of the comb before this.
I don't mean to undermine your custom harp sales, but I do want to say that players who are looking to improve their harmonicas for a tiny investment should definitely look to your combs as well. I'll be ordering more soon. Keep up the great work.
