That "harpin the blues"..goes back quite a way in time. I like the way Charlie McCoy says how many tried but could never quite catch up to little Walter..or words to that affect.
Also love the way Buddy Greene gives much credit to Charlie McCoy for being such an inspiration and awesome player.
There are nice recordings of them playing together.
groyster! I had that album. Didn't it have Tribute to Little Walter on it? I liked his Bluegrass stuff. When the Urban Cowboy Scare was in full force during the late 70s and early '80s, in order to get gigs I played C&W tunes. We used to open each set w/ Orange Blossom Special and close each set w/ The Fastest Harp in the South. I have an F GM and Bb SP/20 set-up for OBS. I actually prefer the slower version of OBS because it seems more melodic to my ears. ---------- Reasonably priced Reed Replacement and tech support on Hand Made Series Hohner Diatonic Harmonicas.
