I recorded harmonica using 545SD mic into clean tube studio pre (dbx586) and then I work on harmonica tone using FabFilter Saturn. It even allow to change frequency responce due to playing dynamics. E.g. the louder I play the more high mid overtones are present in my tone. I feel I do not need more pedals and amps to record good harmonica amplified tone. Do you like the tone? Do you hear frequency responce?
rogonzab I once have a great result with Amplitube Fender. Sometimes it fits great, but sometimes something is wrong and it don't cut the mix. I wasn't completely happy until I found FabFilter Saturn where I can choose and control harmonics to react to my playing.
VST = Virtual Studio Technology, type of plugins to use in Digital audio workstation (DAW) software (e.g. Cubase, Reaper, Logic Pro) to modify tone of recorded sound.
Actually as I use mac and LogicPro I am using AU (audio units) plugins, actually the same thing as VST but for Logic Pro.
My recent love is FabFilter Saturn plugin (available both as AU and VST) which allows me to make harmonica sounds the way I want from light saturation just to make clean harmonica a bit warmer up to heavy blues distortion.
