Hello! I haven't been contributing for a while, but hope I might still ask for some tips: I'll be traveling across the pond next week, to Chicago no less and was hoping for some help with finding a cool jam or performance. What clubs can't I miss?

I'll be in town 12 - 17..

Any help is much appreciated!

Start with Joe Filisko's newsletter, the part marked "hear live harp":

Thanks Adam.

I found that link via a forum search, but for that week only Mississippi Heat and Lindsey Alexander are listed.

Are they worth checking out? I was hoping there was some jam with a great opener somewhere or some legends performing perhaps.

Any tips welcome! Thanks!

I'll give a shout out if our schedual will allow a late Sunday (I think our flight is early on Monday). Cheers!

So I didn't make sunday, Duke, but through Joe Filisko's list I did find a birthdaybash for/by Billy Boy Arnold in Rosa's Lounge, which looked like it might be an authentic Chicago experience and I guess it was. He turned 82 that night and looks much much younger. Bar was a bit empty though, which sort of surprised me. I dragged along 4 other people I met that night, so I did my fair share to help the man ;)

Thanks for the tips!

That sounds amazing! I was in town for a 30th high school reunion, and a bunch of us ended-up at Buddy Guy's on Saturday night.

Walked around Millennial Park on Monday, and went to Museum of Contemporary Art. Ate pulled pork sandwiches with 3 different kinds of bbq sauce. I love Chicago !
