Hello MBH. I'm getting back into playing after a long break. I started about the time that Gussow started making his videos, and played a lot for about 4 years. I took a 5 year break or so.

I'm in Chicago and went to the Harmonica Meetup, what great jam resource for harmonica players. A backing band and everybody takes turns on stage. Like an open mic, but for harmonica players.

I'm an intermediate player, my fav players have always been Jason and Adam, and Chris (RIP). I was very happy to see Jason awarded at SPAH as his early videos informed the base of my early playing.

After a month of practice I'm back up to my previous ability, and am hoping to move on to a more professional level.

I'm curious to know what developments have taken place over the last several years, who is carrying the torch these days, and how they are doing it?

Hi Level up. Thanks for the kind words and welcome home. I miss Chris too bro! Man though, your in great hands living near Joe Filisko and all his guys as Im sure you know. Some of the young harp guys on my radar anyway that are really sounding great and are also kinda new to the scene or audiences anyway are: 1. Konstantin Kolesnichenko 2.) Konstantin Reinfeld 2.) Jarred Goldwebber 3.) Omar Coleman 4.) Hank Shreve 5.) Ilya Portnov Im sure Im forgetting a couple but all of these guys are wonderous players and have all re-inspired me over and over.

Hi ValleyDuke, I'm in Park Ridge, though I take the train downtown on most days for work. I suppose I've graduated in life to commuter status!

Jason, I'm digging your work with the Bad Kind and really dig that seminar you gave and the Bean Blossom. Shame of it is that I was there but a day late! I'll check out those players you mentioned, happy to see you are still active here.

Shakeylee, I'll have to go find Lang, thanks for the suggestion.

Oh, and Mooncat, some years ago you taught me how to overdraw in an IM chat. Thanks!

Welcome back! For 'new' stuff, check out Mikael Fell from Sweden. He's got serious chops, and is a heck of a nice guy:

@LevelUp Those commuter trains are great - nowhere else has them. I grew up on the Burlington Northern line.
