I'm familiar with half-valving a harmonica. I'm curious what would happen to hole 5 if it was fully-valved: having a valve on both the blow and draw reeds. Would putting a valve on the blow reed allow the draw to be bent a full semitone? And, would it sound more like a chromatic bend?

That is an interesting idea. I would think if you put a valve on both sides of hole 5 & 7 you could get single read bends on both notes at these two holes. I may give that a try on one of my harps.

I have two fully valved diatonic harmonicas. They are loud and play easily, but no real bending.
