Hey Ya'll thanks for the mountains of support on tour, throughout the wedding and on youtube, skype, facebook and of course here. It really means a lot to be part of this community and get to meet so many of you out on the road and online. My first CD in seven years, under my own name: "Approved By Snakes" is coming out June 16th. Preorders have already been mailed to everyone early who has ordered them through the label at: https://www.ellersoul.com but the CD drops everywhere on June 16th.

The tunes are about: jail, prostitution, demonic possession, mental illness, addiction, sexuality, evil women, and some bad stuff too. There's a ton of harmonica of course and features massive amounts of "The Bad Kind" my New Orleans band.

I really could not of done this without the support of the Harmonica Community and I thank you all sincerely.
There's a lot of fun effects and pyrotechnics of course but also some straight JT-30 into a 60's Premier and acoustic stuff too.

Were really proud to part of this record label Eller Soul and thank Charlie Baty and Anson Funderberg and Kurt Crandall for getting us on with them!

Here is the very first review of the CD:

More proof you are living a charmed life.
Fingers crossed on the new release.
And be safe out there on the road--doesn't look like you will be in Tulsa, perhaps we'll see you on the Grammys again.

The album is amazing. It's highly recommended! I listened to it alot. It's not only about harmonica playing but also about lyrics and songs (they are catchy as hell. Almost like Morrison's songs).

I just bought a copy, for one, as a way to give back. I encourage others to do so.
But also I am dying to hear Jason playing thru an astatic into the premier.

I consider that, as iceman would say, fearless. Some folks once they get “their sound”
Can be a bit apprehensive to try something new. Perhaps they wouldn’t be recognized immediately.
But I kind of like that bit of mystery. To hear a track on the radio, and be puzzled, who is that?
Who is that… who is that. that sounds great, who is this? Then have to wait for the dj. To announce
The band. They never do when you really need to know, or you miss it. lol.

Also drying to hear if it is a crystal or ceramic element. Please do not spoil it,
I would like to hear it for myself.
Now all you have to do is sell another 9 hundred 99 thousand 999 more records to go platinum.

Thanks again so so dearly and so so much guys! I really appreciate it! Garlic Breath not sure what type of Premier it is , it's like a 60's 3 or 5 watt 1/6" speaker...real rough looking... I found it in the back of a club in new jersey with a bunch of broken mic stands and stuff face down in a puddle, plugged it in works great. Here's a preview of the record and some of the tunes with me talking too much...

Unappreciated JT30 sitting in a store, sadly suffering the indignity of being valued at only $20.00. Down and out Premier rescued from lying face down in a puddle. Gifted artist dragged down by the frailties of being human. All rescued by the love of someone who sees the value in them. Sometimes life makes things better by making all the right mistakes.

One of my favorites so far is My Mom is Going to Yell at You. It has a Taj Mahal feel and is super catchy and fun.

While it has a distinct JR feel, I think this album has an added maturity. There is a good balance of harp work and the harp work isn't the focus of the band.

Very awesome!

I have no idea what the heck i did with this cd. i was going to listen to it in the car, a friend came by for a beer so i asked him to have a listen, now it is no where to be found.

the mic. sounds to me like a crystal not ceramic. also
i would bet it was used extensively thru out the recording?

Saw Jason with JJ Appleton in Harrisburg last Saturday. UNBELIEVABLE! The ladies in front of us drove two hours from Philadelphia to see the show. Wise decision. Jason connects so well with the audience, that it's more like a gathering of old friends than a traditional big star performance. My wife and I ended up buying two each of "Approved by Snakes" and the new CD "Dirty Memory", so we could have them in our cars. Don't miss any chance to see him with either lineup, even if you have to drive for hours. Also don't hesitate to buy both recordings as soon as possible. You'll be glad you did. OFF TO THE WOODSHED!

Hey thanks a super, wicked lot everyone!!!!. I'm so grateful for this community and I'll be at SPAH selling stuff with Lone Wolf and Tom Halchak at Blue Moon Harmonicas. The record officially dropped yesterday but Amazon or itunes or our people or someone dropped the ball on the download dept...I make let you know when thats fixed.
1847 Sorry you can't find that thing!!!! I read the serial numbers of that JT-30 to super authority Greg Heumann over the phone and he said it's a ceramic from the late 60's. I only used it, straight into that Premier on the song : "My Mom's gonna Yell you".
Garlic Breath, great meeting you and Harrisburg, not every show is as fun as that one but thank you bro and thanks for taking the time to come up and introduce yourself I love to meet people in real life from this forum!

Everyone needs to buy this CD! It's killer.

This is what "modern blues harmonica" means. It is original and innovative. It pushes the music forward, instead of incestuously mining the past and the same approaches. It has energy and intensity. It will make you happy to be alive.

You should buy two and put one in your car.

So I gather by serial # you mean the numbers on the back of the element.
Usually 127 annotate a ceramic element, at least on the older mic’s like yours.

On some models it says 127 but it has a sticker on the back indicating a crystal element.
Here is one of mine it does not have a sticker, however you can see the glue residue.

Something I noticed on the album cover. If you look closely it says…..
Microphone and effects by the lone wolf blues company! So it appears there will be a “big”
Announcement soon. The new lone wolf harmonica mic. Soon to be released…

You heard it here first.

the cat is out of the bag so to speak. Lets hear about the new lonewolf microphone.

I found the cd. I extricated it from the table radio. Had a chance to take a closer listen
On my way to work. Pretty intense subject matter. Deeply personal dark. Not sure how to describe it.
I had to roll the tape back a few times at the very end of demon lover.

1847 Much more to come on the new Lone Wolf microphone. It will be out before or just at 2018. I have been using our generic prototype for about a year now but we have a final, more harp friendly shape finished and a shorter barrel.
The new CD "Approved By Snakes" is now available for download (Amazon, itunes etc) too btw!

Winslow...Pretty cool "sound" you're getting around 1 min 17 sec, give or take a few seconds. Reminds me of the Corky Siegel ghost note from difference tones descending octave he did in that live intro of Hush Hush...

Thanks, Larry. I'm playing a 2-5 draw split and bending the 2 draw down to sometimes play an octave with Draw 5, and sometimes not, which produces a beating sound.

I notice that on the the recording that when the octave is in tune, you don't really notice that Draw 5 is sounding. But as I raise the pitch and leave the perfect octave behind, you hear the beating. I do this a few times during the tune.

After more than 15 years as a metro paramedic among other things...I gotta say....this album rocks and is as "real" as it gets based on what I've seen and been through...Moon Cat nailed the "modern sound" and lyrics in my opinion...if you haven't listened....man...I'd try it for sure. Just an opinion.

If you can get google play or iTunes they may have it....I dated a Canadian nurse and all she did was switch her store on her phone to USA when she wanted something from here....she bought a small prepaid card in United States dollars and it worked like a charm...buy that was a couple years ago...worth a try

Sometimes the Canadian servers don't have what we do or have it right away....so that's just a way to go around it if you life overseas switch your account to USA, down load and switch back. I doubt they banned you Moon Cat.....

Oh, and yeah, as far as my experience in the real streets before and after my illness...even growing up....those lyrics are the real thing. Hemingway said if you want to be a great writer you have to live the topic...to me...it shows through that it's real.nothing put on there. You are most welcome for the compliment the album has given me a lot of memories good and bad and a lot of listening pleasure if I don't go insane trying to shed out those licks, I'm sure it will give me much more Haha

Cross border stuff can get weird when buying online. For instance, Apple gift cards bought in Canada won't work in the US. You have to be in Canada and they can sniff where you are. (That said, the Opera browser lets you choose among a few different countries to "be" in.)

From the US, I've bought from Amazon UK and France without any problem.

WOW!!!

Raw emotion. Awesome singing. Prolific songwriting. A talented and tight band. Creative and fresh sounds, blending genres and influences. Great mixing and production.

... and, oh yeah, there is some mind-blowing harp in there too :-)

Everybody on this forum: go now and buy it.

I'm a big fan of all the psychedelic-esque tunes on the record, particularly Demon Lover.

Also, who can't help but love a blues band that covers Die Antwoord?
