Hi fine harmonica folks. It's been a while since I've posted here, as I've been busy with a new job and all. Here's some really great music that I think you will all dig. The harp starts about a minute or so into it. This type of West African music is what's really moving me these days...
Glad to people are digging this stuff! Thanks for linking that one too, indigo. Yeah, that's one stellar harp performance from Vincent! When he starts in at around 4 minutes or so, it always just blows me away!
Vincent plays all over the Lobi Traore album Duga. Lobi Traore was murdered some years ago but this album is a great testament to his talent. Hi Isaac!
Thanks for the tips, guys! I'll check out Little George Sueref -- I haven't heard of him before! I've got some Lobi Traore ("Mali to Memphis" and maybe one or two other albums), but not Duga. I will check that out for sure!!
Great music. Thanks for posting. Been a fan of African Music for a while now. Them Mushrooms, Johnny Clegg and Juluka, Kenyan Boys Choir, etc, but this is the first time I've heard harmonica in the mix! ---------- The Iceman
I feel like this is the kind of thing Al "blind owl" Wilson would into now if he was still around. Now I am and he's smilin' just a little more somewhere.
