Son of Dave was the reason I bought a "real" harmonica. And definitely the reason I bought a loop station!
I grew up in Lorette, MB and around Winnipeg, listening to the Crash Test Dummies, and eventually I saw Son of Dave performing on an episode of Later with Jools Holland. I think I would have seen KT Tunstall play "Black Horse and the Cherry Tree" on there too, reinforcing my need to buy a good loop pedal. I saw Seasick Steve for the first time on that show too, and I started building guitars out of 2x4's and hockey sticks. That combo is pretty much my set these days.
A lot of the harmonica guys I hear of on this forum got their start being inspired by the classic blues harp players. But for me, it was Son of Dave. I wanted to learn to do what he does, so I bought a haro, went online, and found Adam Gussow's videos. And here we are. I still don'tknow what I'mdoing half the time, but it's a ton of fun!
