I'd love visiting The Crossroads, taking my son with me. For all Bluesmen, Clarksdale, Mississippi is without a doubt the equivalent of a Catholic visiting The Vatican in Rome, or Mecca for the Muslims. The main problem for me is how to get there. I can't drive far due to being handicapped. And a trip from the NYC area to Clarksdale isn't like going to the store for a six pack of beer. And just for the record, my son doesn't have his driver's license.

h4, I feel ya. If I had not moved to Arkansas some years ago I may have missed out on the whole delta thing. Helena is about an hour and a half from here and Cdale is 2 hours. Jolene and I have spent many great moments in both towns but Clarksdale is the real blues town. We have met folks from all over who have saved and planned for years to come down for a fest. We spent time in motels and on couches and air beds, but at this point we're about to go mobile in our travel trailer and stay when and where ever we want.

If you wait and plan and save you will get a real reward one day. There is such a funky sweet energy in town. And the blues trail markers all over the delta make for a lot of day tripping.

Hopefully one day your son will be legal to drive and y'all will ride a plane to Memphis or Little Rock, rent a car, and have a time.

By the way, I grew up in Corning.
