At one point in the video Hal claims that he is a "professional hand whistler".
Boy, there's a hand to mouth job!

BTW, this is not unrelated to harmonica, in fact, Hal probably has more opportunity to play harp than "hand flute".
But I don't know him personally, perhaps I shall inquire at SPAH.

Best I can do is a farting noise, and that took several minutes of practice.

Well Nate . . . if you want to get to Carnegie Hall . . .

I spent hours learning the art of hand noise when I was a kid, just so I could drive my 6th grade teacher insane. She never did catch on as to who the faux-flatulent malcontent was.

As a kid we did hand flute with a blade of grass between the thumbs, that made it a reed.....
