Now that I'm retired we are about to hit the road in earnest. Our first stop will be New Orleans. I expect we'll head that way March 31 and take our time, so Saturday or Sunday the 1st or 2nd should find us setting up at an rv park close to town, and we plan to hang out for a week or better, taking in sights in NO as well as some other places.

I have asked before about jams and possibilities for gigs in NO, this time nothing will stand in the way of us being in town for a while! We definitely plan to do some busking and would not mind hitting a jam or two. Any ideas on a joint we could maybe get a gig would be great.

Ok, you locals! Info please? TIA and see you in a couple of weeks!

I have been gone from New Orleans for almost a year, but to to Smoky Greenwells Jam at Bamboulas on Monday night, and also, before that at Danny Alexanders Jam at DMacs. Then Big Daddy's Jam at the Pour House on Wednesday. Also be sure to look up Andy J. Forest, probably at Spotted Cat on Frenchman, or other places.

Have fun.

Besides Jason Ricci and Andy j forest,my old drummer lives there and is always trying to get me to move down there.

My favorite washboard player is in NOLA . Her name is Dizzy and she plays with a band called yes ma'am. Def worth catching!

Have fun!!

I'm checking these joints out online. Pour House has changed to a sports type venue, the others appear to be lively. Thanks guys, keep it coming!

Wrong Pour house. The one I was talking about is the Pour House Saloon, on Jefferson Hwy.

Hey MoonCat, tried your email a time or 2.

We're set to head out tomorrow and expect to set up at a state park outside NO on Saturday. I have a list of joints. Emails to them have not worked out so I'll be using the phone and we'll do walk-ins as well. As for jams we'll see if we can hit a couple!
