Hi,

A new family member has arrived: a cheap electric bass.

Is really fun to play whit, but I dont have a bass amp.

Do you think that it would be safe to plug the bass on any of this amplifier:

- 1948 Knight 93-370 Tube PA
- 1954 Bell and Howell tube amp (from a movie projector)
- 201? Harp Train 10

(I have a 2x10 cab: Eminence 1028k y Celestion Tube 10)

Any experiences?

Thxs!!

First of all, back in the day of those first two amps, there really wasn't any such thing as a bass amp OR a harp at all and during those years of those first two, bass was usually an upright bass and pickups did become available for them. Fender introduced the very first electric bass sometime around 1954 and there was still no such thing as a bass amp until they came up with the 4-10 Bassman amp in 1955.

As far as the Harp Train, try it for yourself and see.

As long as you don't drive it super hard, the Harp Train 10 can handle bass frequencies.

The Harp Train 40 takes it like a champ. I'm a bass player, so, naturally, me playing through all of our stuff is part of the testing process ;)

You'll probably loosen up the speakers very nicely.
