I have 5 MBD's that are bone stock. Two from Genesis Harmonicas.

My Genesis "A" has a dead 1 hole draw.

Tried adjusting it and getting it to play but I'm convinced the reed is blown.

I also have a set of custom combs I never installed.

Seems like it's a good time to send this set out to have the combs installed and have someone do some light customization/"optimization"

Any recommendations?

Andrew Zajac is in Canada, but will do it. He's certified by Joe Filisko, and his prices are reasonable. His combs are incredible.

Thanks Phil!

Seven Oh Three: I am in Canada, but I have a USA P.O. box which can lower shipping costs for my US customers. Please contact me through my website and let me know what you would like and I'll let you know what I can do:

My suggestion is to have them done right or don't do it, or at least don't pay much. I work on customer supplied harps as well, and provide the best job I can do for very reasonable prices.

FWIW, I've had Joe (harpwrench) customize around two dozen harps for me. His work is consistently top notch - the harps play like a dream - and he delivers when he says he will.

Split the difference...

Send some to Zajac and some to Spiers... then you can compare. (And brag). :)

Jon Harl specialises in seydel, but I don't know his contact info. Can find him through the Barrett connections. Also Greg Jones in Texas is the seydel authorised repairer, 1623 custom harmonicas.

Rupert Oysler is the US President, contact and repair man for Seydel-

Another vote for Joe Spiers. He will return to you a harp with game changing response.

Don't forget Tom Halchack. He's good, fast and reasonably priced.

Schaef, Greg Jones over at 16:23 Harmonicas works on Seydels. He has a good reputation.

It's perhaps not a fair comparison because I've obtained custom harps from different folks at different stages of their game and mine, and my requirements have been different, and their offers have been different

But

The harps I'm really happy with are from Joe Spiers.
