Last week Seydel released a Major Cross harmonica model. This has led to harmonica forum chat about various tunings, and their respective merits.
Even though I developed Major Cross, and use it all the time, my eyes glaze over when tuning details are discussed. At the end of the day, what matters is the sound.
So then. This is what Major Cross sounds like: Major Cross demo

Thanks Tony. I just received my Major Cross harmonica last Monday. One method I used to demonstrate the Major Cross tuning to a guitar player that I play with was to run through the G scale on a standard C harp and then on a Major Cross G harp. This showed the cleaner A note without bending and picking up the F# note instead of substituting the F note. The harp came in handy this week when accompanying my son during his guitar practice as most of the songs he is playing are in G major. Be interested to know where I could pick up folk and bluegrass type music. I can read sheet music and can convert anything to tab format. Thanks BC

Glad to here that the Major Cross instrument appears to be doing what it should. I remember the first time I played one, around 20 years ago. I had tuned it up myself and immediately struck by how much easier tunes were to play
