I recently bought a mixer to use at our local jam sessions. Mostly we use it for vocals. Instruments are played through our own amps.

I like to use a condenser mic for my vocals and a vintage Shure 520 with CM cartridge for harp. The condenser needs phantom power and my mixer applies this power across all the mic inputs. To avoid damage should I stay away from plugging my Shure 520 into a channel that has phantom power.

It seems that modern mics like Shure 57s are not a problem with phantom power but I am not so sure about our vintage stuff.
