Jason made a mostly unpublished appearance in St. Petersburg last night at The Hideaway Café with Damon Fowler and Selwyn Birchwood. It was a late addition to his schedule. Damon (Lakeland) and Selwyn (Orlando) live fairly close to St. Pete and are on a break from touring so they put this gig together with Jason, who was en route from Key West back home to New Orleans. It was an acoustic set and it was wonderful. The Hideaway Café is a “Listening Room” and a bit of a unique atmosphere. No dance floor and the people in the front row are sitting about five feet from the performers. This is also where I went to see Adam playing with Sterling McGhee on his 80th Birthday.

There was a lady sitting in front of where I was standing who recorded the entire performance. It was a little annoying because I had to shift from side to side to see around this giant phone she was holding up over her head at arm’s length, but then I saw that she posted all the videos on Facebook, so I guess it all works out for a reason. Definitely worth a listen.

I’m not sure how embedded links work to Facebook so I’ll try it a couple of different ways.
