Straight to the point..ha ha! Coolness is a subjective thing...some great harmonica players are a lot less cool than others...but thats just my opinion. For example Cool: Dennis Gruenling Not Cool: John Popper Just my opinion
If a person wastes even a single second wondering if they're cool, then it's a sure bet they're not.
Hollywood actors/actresses (and likely the vast majority of our modern "celebrities" and media darlings) are a fine example of this hypothesis.

The harder someone tries to be oool---the dorkier they appear to be---the coolest anyone will be, is to be yrslf-My buddy spends all his time. trying to be cool. he does-hand moves he saw Kim Wilson do- problem is he doesn't work on his playing--just his forced fake stage presence==
He even told me not to joke around with kids or people when I play with him--he ;s very cool conscience--guess Im not cool cuz I interact with people--hmmm
I like the way u looked at the camera "NO"---THATWAS COOL
I very much think it does. The only other explanation is that all the harp players were cool anyway before they started playing. That doesn't seem likely.
Playing the harmonica in itself is not enough, but learning how to love music through the dicipline of an instrument can give a person great feelings of achievment and inner focus, putting value in oneself instead of others opinion of you. And when this happens, I believe people will percieve you as coolER than before, because you don't care about their opinion anymore.
So will playing harmonica make you cool? I think maybe, but then again there is also a chance that growing potatoes or writing source codes makes you cool. It's all about the passion :)
I've always thought "cool" was a fascinating topic. Some guys put it on, like a fancy coat of some sort. Other guys have it coming from way down inside them. Up here in the north, in Minnesota, we got cool farmers. These can be guys who just exude some kinda cool that comes from years of hard work, living with their own successes and failures. If they have lots of money, they aren't gonna let you know. They've paid their dues in a whole different way, and they oughta learn harp; it'd be a perfect instrument for 'em. Personally, I'm just happy that God tapped me on the shoulder and said "trumpet and keyboards are fine, but give THIS a try". Actually, it was my dad who did that. But, me..? I'm still a short old guy who was lucky enough to run into the blues.
Not the way I play it it won't. Next doors cat is suing me for plagiarism. Nice to know I'm not the only one who doesn't rate Sinatra. Dean martin, Tony Bennett now your talking.
you should do a video about what kind of amp you should start out with when playing harmonica. something for home use and light busking maybe. or just plain home use. always love your videos :)
As cool as a 50-year-old man with a ponytail? What could be cooler than that? Oh wait, I know the answer, a 50-year-old man with a pony tail, a blues hat, Hawaiian shirt, and sunglasses, playin' harmonica, in a band full of rock stars.
