Meet Drea Van Allen. something new (or old, kinda)

At the Huntington Blues Society Challenge I got to hear Drea Van Allen (Drea is short for Andrea). Her one woman act struck me as a fresh breath of air. She had the style of an old man playing and old woman singing coming out of this young female body. I was impressed.

She currently based in Lexington, KY, just 2 hours away, and will back in Huntington, WV on Wed Oct 19th the the Blues Society monthly meeting at the V-Club.

She says she had played for 6 years and has been influenced by Sony Terry. She has taken lessons from the like of Deak Harp, and even taught a lesson at SPAH. I can see where she has some more to grow, but is already a fireball worth watching

You can find her on YOUTUBE.
